Every classroom must have hand-shakes to show that all are welcome, hugs to show how much you care, and hi-fives for high student achievement!

Election Day at school!
It was exciting!  We spent the entire day revolved around the presidency.
Ofcourse, we had a mock election.

First, students had to register to vote with a picture I.D.  After registering, they received their ballot & went into the voting booth.  Then, they cast their ballot and came out to receive an "I voted" sticker.

Students also did president research.
Each student used an ipad2 to find information about one of our nation's previous presidents.

We learned about the republican and democrat party, some facts about the current candidates, the electoral college, past voting history for states, and learned about what a president's job entails.

And of course, we had to be a little crafty.  The day just wouldn't be complete without glitz or glitter!

125 fourth grade students created patriotic star garland to adorn our school.
We also wove "flag" placemats.
However, it wasn't just crafting you know...common core math alignment...
symmetry and measurement!

The votes are in!
And the President of the United States is....

peace-out!
